Reaching far-off areas with a view to implement financial inclusion J&K Bank organized a Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Mela at Wangath in Kangan, which was attended by a large gathering of people including the beneficiaries.

As per a statement Cluster head Ganderbal Abdul Hamid Khan has distributed more than 100 Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) among the beneficiaries on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Cluster Head has said, “Kissan Credit Card (KCC) is one of the credit facilities aimed at the economic upliftment of the small farmers.” He urged the inhabitants of the area to avail the benefits of various tailor made schemes of the Bank.

Lead Bank Officer Ganderbal Nissar Ahmad, FLCC Facilitator Abdul Ahad Akhoon, Head B.U Wangath Abdul Majeed and Incharge of the Wangath Higher Secondary School were also present on the said event.

Meanwhile, the Bank organized various financial literacy camps during the last fortnight in Baramulla and Shopian districts.

Baramulla Camp

The Bank has conducted a financial awareness camp for the entrepreneurs undergoing Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) at District Industries Centre complex at Baramulla.

The camp was organized in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industry Board, Khadi and Village Industry Commission and District Industries Centre Baramulla. Speaking on the occasion the Facilitator FLCC Baramulla has shared with the audience the role and objectives of FLCC centres.

He has further said that after the sanction of loan in their favour it was mandatory for them to establish the units and ensure proper end use of funds.

He has urged them to become a source of livelihood for others and thus become true entrepreneurs.

Shopian Camp

Under aegis of Lead Bank Office FLCC Shopian organized an awareness camp in Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian.

The statement reads that more than hundred fifty students from higher classes, staff and faculty members including Farooq Ahmad Principal of the school participated in the camp.

Welcoming the participants Facilitator FLCC Shopian M A Jan has briefed the audience about the utility and objective of these awareness camps.

He has said that these camps were aimed at imparting awareness regarding the financial schemes tailored by the banks exclusively for the benefit of students, teachers and other staff members.

Lead District Manager M Saleem Wani has discussed Educational Loan Scheme which has been devised for students of merit desirous of continuing their studies further in professional or academic colleges, but face acute financial restraints.

The scheme carries 100% interest subsidy for course period to those whose family income is up to 4.50 Lacs per anum.

Cluster Head Shopian Javeed Ahmad Bhat described the contribution of Bank in development of district Shopian in all fields like agriculture, horticulture through KCC and other financing schemes like passenger vehicle finance and providing employment opportunities to youth in establishing their own ventures.

Principal of the institute along with other staff members praised J&K Bank for these valuable efforts.
