J&K Bank Wednesday gave a warm send off to one of its most senior officers Shafat Ahmad Banday, who retired as the Bank’s Senior President.

Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad along with Executive Presidents Parvez Ahmad and Abdul Hamid Banday, Presidents, Vice-presidents and other senior officers of the Bank attended the farewell.

Rising among the ranks to one of the top posts in the Bank, Banday had a wide range of experience in banking operations like fund management, risk management, information technology and business strategy. Currently presiding over the bank’s Strategy and Business Development, he served the Bank for last thirty-three years in different capacities.

In a statement issued here, speaking on the occasion, Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad praised Shafat Ahmad Banday for his honesty and dedication throughout his remarkable career at the Bank.

He said, “For institutions to achieve excellence, honesty and integrity have to be the basic ingredients of leadership besides capacity and vision. Shafat has been one of inspiring officers in this regard.”

Speaking at the function Shafat Ahmad said, “I find myself immensely grateful to this institution for everything I have learned and earned during these memorable years of my life. The memories of shared delights and hardships shall remain forever with me. “

Extending gratitude to his colleagues and friends in the Bank, he said, “I feel overwhelmed by the love and respect I have got from my colleagues throughout my career here. I thank all of you for your kindness, support, and a wonderful thirty three years.”
