J&K Bank organized awareness camps in Kulgam and Poonch district, a bank statement said.

FLCC Kulgam organized awareness camps in collaboration with Lead District Office Kulgam at villages Bathipora and Gandwani of Block DH Pora. At Gandwani, the camp was also attended by RSETI Kulgam representative.

“The Camps were attended by cross-section of the people engaged in horticulture, agriculture and its allied activities, carpet industry, artisans & others,” the statement said.

Facilitator FLCC urged the participants to inculcate habit of saving among themselves and their children. The fruit Growers and farmers were asked to take advantage of schemes tailored by Banks under KCC scheme, which was discussed threadbare for the participants. “Likewise unemployed youth were apprised about government’s flagship scheme SKEWPY and were asked to avail the benefits of the said scheme for setting up of income generation units.”

Meanwhile, the bank’s business unit Lasana organized an awareness camp at village Lasana in Poonch, which was attended by a large number of people belonging to the area.

“Speaking at the camp, Facilitator FLCC Poonch informed the audience about importance of bank accounts in view of direct transfer of social benefits and urged them to open accounts in the banks,” the statement added.

Participants in the camp sought clarifications about KCC and other sponsored schemes. They were informed about the fictitious offers of lottery winning and other cheap funds.
