J&K Bank conducted many financial literacy camps across the state during the last few weeks, wherein a large number of people participated.

Budgam Camps

The bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling (FLCC) centre Budgam organised and participated at various such camps in Khansahib, Charar-i-Sharief, Beerwah, Chadura, Narbal and RSETI Budgam.

With a view to make unemployed youth aware regarding various income generating schemes including the sponsored ones under micro small and medium enterprises in services, trade and SSI sector, the FLCC centre Budgam participated in the awareness camp organized by Deputy Director Employment Budgam in BDO Office Khan-Sahib.

Similar camps were conducted at different places like ITI in Nagam Charar-i-Sharief, Block Office Beerwah, Pnachayat Ghar Chadura and at Narbal in collaboration with Lead Bank Office and Business Unit; to make different audiences aware about their financial needs and solutions that banks offer.

One such camp was organised at RSETI Budgam, which was attended by the youth from BPL category of the district who were undergoing a 15-day training programme on Tila Work.

The trainees were educated about the importance of opening accounts with the banks and availing the facilities, provided to underprivileged for their economic upliftment under PMJDY, in the form of zero balance account, smart cards and overdraft facilities. They were also informed about the rural artisan loan under Differential Rate of Interest and other micro credit schemes available to the trainees after completion of their course.

Baramulla Camps

Meanwhile, the Bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling (FLCC) centre Baramulla conducted awareness camps at Panchayat Ghar Frasthar in Block Baramulla and RSETI Sopore.

Also, the FLCC Baramulla participated in a financial literacy camp organized by J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD at Government Primary School Gutiyar in Block Baramulla.

The seminar was attended by good number of people from village Gutiyar and other adjacent areas mostly farmers including teachers and students from the school.

Representatives from District Industries centre, Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry Department spoke about the schemes, services and incentives available from their respective departments and urged upon the audience to take benefit of these schemes.

Makhanpur camp

So as to promote financial literacy and spread awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, a mega camp was organized by The J&K Bank  in Village Makhanpur  Jammu wherein the people from Makhanpur charkan, Laswara, Deoli, Rathana, Gandi, Jinder melu, Salher, Chak Tara, Chak Jagtu, Biaspur, Chak Mohdyar, Jindlehar, Jinderkalan, Parlah, Kod Kolan, Allah, Arnia, Arnia ward 1, Khurd, Kotli Charkan, Bhadurkhan, Nougram, Prithipur, Bhayari, Krail Manhasan. and other adjoining areas from the participating Business Units of J&K Bank Makhanpur, Salher, Arnia, Bishnah and Dablehar. The camp aimed at dissemination of information regarding the ambitious mission being implemented by the J&K Bank as per the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana of the Government of India. More than 900 people visited the Mega Camp and 500 accounts were opened on the spot.
