Jammu and Kashmir Bank is fast spreading its network to the unbanked areas in the state of Jammu and Kashmir to reach to the unreached with world class banking products and services. With its motto ‘serving to empower’, the bank has tailored products, deposit as well as loan schemes, suiting to local economies to bring economic prosperity in different sections of society.

A statement issued to a local news agency, KNS, reads that this was stated by JK Bank Executive President, O P Sharma while speaking at a financial literacy camp at Chandigam Lolab, Kupwara. The camp was organised by the J&K bank Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling (FLCC) Kupwara in collaboration with Lead Bank Office Kupwara.

The Executive President, chief guest on the occasion, apprised the participants about the benefits of  different people friendly schemes and services offered by J&K Bank having inbuilt features of transforming their lives. While referring to grievance redressal mechanism of the bank, Sharma said that the bank has a system in place where speedy redressal of complaints is ensured. “We are always at the service of the people and fully capable to offer any financial solution, even to an individual,” he said.

The Executive President later on visited the handicrafts training centre established by the local army unit there at Chandigam and encouraged the trainees and appreciated their handiworks. He also paid a visit to a local school and interacted with the staff and the students.

Notably, the camp was attended by about 300 persons belonging to different sectors of economy and hailing from the hamlets of  Chandigam, Sogam, Lalpora, Gund Macher, Wavoora, Dooniwari and adjoining areas. The students and teaching staff of Govt. High School Chandigam, sarpanches, panches, officials of local army unit, trainees and teachers of a local vocational training centre and other security personal stationed in chandigam also attended the camp.

The participants, particularly the Sarpanchs of the area namely Ghulam Hassan Dar of Chandigam, Abdul Rahim Wani of Gund Manchar, Gh Rasool Wani, Chairman Citizens Council Lolab and Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, President Pensioners Association, Sogam hailed the initiative of the bank for conducting such awareness camp, said the statement issued to KNS.

The Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Assistant Director Employment and counselling centre Kupwara, the representatives and officials from the departments of Handloom, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Khadi and village Industries Board, Horticulture and HELP Foundation were also present at the camp.
