J&K Bank has paid an advance tax of Rs 176 crore for the third quarter of the fiscal 2013-14. It continues to be the top income tax payer in the state.

So far, this year, the bank has paid total advance tax of Rs 441 crore for the three quarters ending December, 2013, which is 26 percent higher than the tax paid for the same period during the last financial year.

Tax is deducted on basis of the profit the bank makes.
