J&K bank bagged Certificates of Excellence for two of its best Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) in Bandipora and Baramulla at  a glittering function of ‘RSETI DIWAS’ organised by Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi.

On behalf of the J&K Bank Chairman and CEO, the bank’s President Nayeemullah and Vice-President A K Pandita received the award which was granted on the basis of ‘A’ ratings earned by the two institutes through exemplary performance.

Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh presided over the function that was attended by President, National Advisory Council for RSETIs Dr D Veerendra Heggade among other dignitaries of union government, state governments and sponsoring banks.

The Certificate of Excellence was awarded by MoRD on the basis of achievements of these institutes during the year 2012-13.The Directors of the institutes were also present on the occasion.

The RSETIs’ unique training model includes short term training for market linked entrepreneurship development followed by continuous hand holding support with bank linkages.  RSETIs promote self employment for the rural youth and thus discourage stress migration to the cities for alternative means of livelihood.  Currently 566 RSETIs are functioning across the country.

Notably, J&K Bank sponsors twelve such training institutes in 12 lead districts of the state where in more than 5000 candidates were trained since 2011
