Hundreds of the lecturers including females assembled at Srinagar’s Partap park and marched through the busy M. A road towards Press Enclave to register their protest. The protesting lecturers sought immediate redressal of the issue and requested the authorities to take up the issue with Governor Satya Pal Malik’s administration to end the “miseries” they go through every day.

“I come from a far-off village from Anantnag district every day to protest, but despite losing our time money and energy nobody seems willing to look for our demands,” said one of the protesting lecturer Aijaz from Anantnag.

Aijaz said that they were assured that all the lecturers will be regularised after the period of seven years, but it happened only on papers, nothing happened on the ground,” he said.

Commenting on this, Arun Bakshi, a President of All Jammu and Kashmir 10+2 Lecturers Association, said that at the end of the day we feel neglected and leave home with hopelessness. Shouting slogans; One Demand One Solution, Regularization”, “Apna Haq Leike Raheingay”, the protesters demanded a “secure” job policy from the government.
