SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation on Tuesday arrested the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) in an alleged case of misappropriation of funds.

Reports said that Shafqat Sultan, CEO JAKEDA was arrested after an investigation found him guilty in buying solar lights at exorbitant rates, thereby causing loss to the state exchequer.

Reports quoting officials said that tendering process was also violated to favour a particular agency. “He was found guilty in a FIR number 10/ 2015,” a vigilance official told a local newspaper.
