SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday approved an increase in the monthly stipend for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs).
According to an order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, FMGs will now receive a stipend of Rs 12,300 per month for a year, starting from the date of the order’s issuance.
“The approval is subject to several conditions, including that the payment of stipends must conform to National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, funds must be available under the relevant account head, and FMGs pursuing internships in private medical colleges within the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory will have their stipends borne by the respective colleges,” it reads.
