SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said that 269 notices have been issued for construction deviations in areas under the jurisdiction of the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA).
In a written response to a question by MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, said regarding the total number of illegal and unauthorised constructions in Pahalgam, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also serves as the Minister for Tourism, said that the PDA has recently issued notices for 269 construction deviations based on permissions granted by the Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA).
“However, the majority of these include PMAY and residential houses of locals that fall within the jurisdiction of the concerned authority,” the minister stated.
He further said that the Pahalgam Development Authority is the nodal agency responsible for monitoring deviations, illegal, and unauthorised constructions within its notified jurisdiction and carries out demolition drives whenever required. (KNO)
