JK Govt Reconstitutes Board of Directors of Forest Development Corporation

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday reconstituted the Board of Directors of the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Development Corporation, superseding all previous orders related to the matter.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the new Board will be headed by the Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, who will serve as the Chairman. The Board will also include the Administrative Secretaries of the Finance Department; Forest, Ecology and Environment Department; Industries and Commerce Department; Tribal Affairs Department; and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department as Directors.

In addition, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K, will serve as a Director, while the Managing Director of the J&K Forest Development Corporation will serve as the Member Secretary.

The reconstitution is aimed at streamlining the functioning of the Corporation and ensuring better coordination between departments involved in forest development and allied activities. (JKNS)
