SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee on Wednesday issued the schedule for the first batch of pilgrims departing from Srinagar for Haj 2025.
According to an official notification, the first flight (SG-5304) is scheduled to depart on May 4, 2025. Pilgrims on this flight have been instructed to report at Haj House, Bemina, Srinagar, between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM on the day of departure.
The committee has directed pilgrims to strictly follow the reporting time and ensure that only standard baggage, free from banned items, is brought as check-in luggage.
It added that the schedule for the remaining pilgrims will be notified separately.
Officials said over 3,600 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to perform Hajj this year under the government quota.
Earlier, the Saudi government temporarily suspended the issuance of Umrah, tourist, and visit visas ahead of the Hajj season. The move raised concerns among aspiring pilgrims.
However, officials clarified that the suspension is a routine pre-Hajj measure and will not affect the upcoming pilgrimage from India, including from Jammu and Kashmir. They said the step is aimed at streamlining arrangements and avoiding issues faced by officially registered pilgrims. (KNO)
