SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has invalidated detention orders under the Public Safety Act for four individuals, ordering their prompt release from preventive detention unless required in other cases.
Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul’s bench nullified the orders against Rashid Habib Zargar of Tikker Kupwara, Amir Ahmad Rather of Ashmuji Kulgam, Danish Bashir Dar of Shah Colony, Parimpora Srinagar, and Suhail Shabir Ganie alias Imran of Chattergam, Nowgam.
The orders included No.24-DMK/PSA of 2022 dated 27.06.2022 for Zargar, No.20/DMS/PSA/2022 dated 08.04.2022 for Rather, and No.DMS/PSA/17/2023 dated 08.03.2023 and No.DMS/PSA/83/2022 dated 30.08.2022 for Dar and Ganie, respectively.
The court directed their immediate release unless their presence is required in other legal proceedings.
