JK Police Attach Property Under UAPA in North Kashmir

   

PROOFREAD: Police on Tuesday said they have attached the property of a militant under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in North Kashmir’s Sopore.

A police spokesperson in a statement said, ” In a crackdown on terror infrastructure, Sopore Police attached immovable property belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandoo, son of Abdul Khaliq Kandoo, a resident of Kralteng, Sopore. Kandoo is a designated terrorist under UAPA and is a Pakistan-based handler of the proscribed outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.”

“The attached property includes a piece of land measuring 13×12 feet, with one shop and one room, located under Survey No. 780 Min at Kralteng, Sopore. The action is linked to FIR No. 201/2013 registered at Police Station Sopore in connection with terror-related activities. The attachment was carried out under Sections 87 and 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) by a joint team of Sopore Police and Revenue officials, with approval from the competent court. The property was reportedly liable to be used for harbouring terrorists and supporting unlawful activities,” police said.
