Ten CRPF Personnel Injured as Vehicle Falls into Gorge in JK’s Budgam

   

SRINAGAR: Ten security personnel were injured on Tuesday when a CRPF vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Tangnar in the Doodhpathri area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The vehicle, belonging to the 181 Battalion of the CRPF, was transporting personnel posted at the Special Operations Group (SOG) camp in Hardu Panzoo, Beerwah.

The accident took place while the vehicle was moving through the hilly terrain of Tangnar. It reportedly overturned and rolled down the slope, leading to multiple injuries.

Local residents and emergency services responded to the scene and moved the injured to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Khansahib for initial treatment.

All ten personnel were later referred to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for further care.

The injured include CRPF constables Shyam Balaji, Vijay Shankar, Akshay Bhagwat, Jaykendra, Prakash Jamatia, Bikas Barman, and Rajiv, from the 35th, 43rd, 25th, and 181st battalions. Also injured were driver Ram Gopal of the 75th Battalion and Special Police Officers (SPOs) Feroz Ahmad and Javid Ahmad.

Police have registered a case. (KNT)
