SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Staff Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced recruitment for 669 Sub Inspector posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The application process will commence on December 3, 2024, and the last date to apply is January 2, 2025. Interested candidates can apply online at jkssb.nic.in.
Applicants must be domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with domicile certificates issued on or before January 2, 2025. Candidates must be aged between 18 and 28 years as of January 1, 2024, though for in-service personnel, the upper age limit is 30 years. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is required for eligibility. Additionally, candidates must meet the specified physical standards outlined in the official notification.
The application fee is Rs 700 for general candidates and Rs 600 for those belonging to the SC, ST-1, ST-2, and EWS categories.
The selection process involves three stages: a written examination, a physical standard test, and a physical endurance test. The written examination will be objective-type with multiple-choice questions, set in English. Negative marking will apply, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) certificate holders will receive bonus marks: 5 per cent for NCC ‘C’ certificate holders, 3 per cent for NCC ‘B’ certificate holders, and 2 per cent for NCC ‘A’ certificate holders.
