SRINAGAR: Aam Admi Party has extended its support to the National Conference by submitting a letter of support to the Lt Governor on Friday. This has taken the number of seats of the INDIA bloc to 53, surpassing the majority mark.
Arvind Kejriwal’s party has extended support to the JKNC-Congress alliance in government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a report in The Statesman, the party said, “Aam Aadmi Party will extend support to JKNC in Jammu & Kashmir. The letter of support has been submitted to the Lt Governor. JK Assembly has one MLA of AAP.”
AAP candidate Mehraj Malik won the Doda seat in the Assembly Polls 2024 on Tuesday. With this victory, AAP debuted in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
JK National Conference won 42 seats in the election, while their alliance partners won six seats. Four out of six winning Independent candidates have also extended support to JK-Congress alliance.
