SRINAGAR: The Government on Thursday informed that 584 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 192 from Jammu division and 392 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 90166. Also, 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 04 from Jammu division and 06 from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 710 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 399 from Jammu Division and 311 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 90166 positive cases, 7952  are Active Positive, 80802 have recovered and 1412 have died; 468 in Jammu division and 944 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 2100760 test results available, 2010594 samples have been tested as negative till October 22, 2020.

Till date, 637799 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19765 persons in-home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7952 in isolation and 51461 in-home surveillance. Besides, 557209 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 18247 positive cases (including 127 cases reported today) with 1800 Active Positive, 16107 recovered (including 113 cases recovered today), 340 deaths; Baramulla has 5452 positive cases (including 104 cases reported today) with 1392 Active Positive, 3923 recovered (including 28 cases recovered today), 137 deaths; Pulwama reported 4507 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 293 active positive cases, 4135 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 79 deaths; Kulgam has 2432 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 107 Active Positive, 2279 recoveries (including 07 case recovered today), 46 deaths; Shopian has 2139 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 79 Active Positive, 2025 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today) and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4086 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 345 Active Positive, 3670 recovered (including 30 cases recovered today), 71 deaths;  Budgam has 5745 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 355 Active Positive and 5299 recovered (including 41 cases recovered today), 91 deaths; Kupwara has 4175 positive cases (including 40 cases reported today) with 351 Active Positive, 3753 recovered (including 35 cases recovered today), 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3921 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 263 Active Positive, 3615 recovered (including 24 cases reported today), 43 deaths and  Ganderbal has 3386 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 240 active positive cases, 3115 recoveries (including 18 cases recovered today) and 31 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 16555 positive cases (including 103 cases reported today) with 954 active positive cases, 15358 recoveries (including 190 cases recovered today), 243 deaths; Rajouri has 3149 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 235 active positive cases, 2869 recovered (including 43 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Ramban has 1536 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 84 active positive, 1440 recoveries (including 01 case recovered today) and 12 deaths; Kathua has 2360 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 47 Active positive, 2283 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Udhampur has 2608 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 121 active positive cases, 2460 recovered (including 06 cases reported today) and 27 deaths; Samba has 2111 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 404 Active Positive, 1682 recoveries and 25 deaths; Doda has 2557 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 159 active positive cases, 2355 recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Poonch has 2175 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 406 active positive, 1747 recoveries (including 97 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1213 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 100 active positive, 1106 recoveries and 07 deaths while Kishtwar has 1812 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today), with 217 active positive cases and 1581 recoveries  (including 40 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.

According to the bulletin, of the total 90166 positive cases in J&K 9508 have been reported as travellers while 80658 as others.

The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 1023 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 91 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1706 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 118 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3651 COVID dedicated beds, 3367 Isolation beds with 2729 beds  vacant and 284 ICU beds with 209 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.

The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal  https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google play store.

Besides, 24×7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu .The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.
