The J&K Vice Chancellors’ Forum has expressed deep anguish over the incident of Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, tribuneindia reported.
“The forum has termed the behaviour of the officer as completely unprofessional and uncalled for, aimed at just harassment and intimidation. The forum said prior presence of the media on the spot indicated that the action was premeditated,” the report said.
Pertinently, a DSP stopped Andrabi’s vehicle at Udhampur yesterday and removed the black film on the window panes of the vehicle, which is allowed for vehicles of ‘Z’ protectees.
Andrabi entered into an argument with the police officer who said he was only doing his duty. A video of the incident went viral on social media. Social media users in Kashmir were divided over the incident but some supported the police officer for doing his duty.
