Congress on Sunday said the state would not witness development and prosperity if BJP and the PDP would join hands again to form the new government in Jammu and Kashmir.

The state Congress chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir told KNS over phone that the state has not witnessed any development in the previous 10-months- since the new government took over. “We have been always saying this and we will continue to say that the state would never witness peace and prosperity if the BJP-PDP coalition continues in Jammu and Kashmir. The past 10 months bear testimony of the fact that JK had more devastation than any development. We are never going to move forward if the North Pole and the South Pole marriage continues,” said the state Congress chief.

He maintained further that the ball is in the court of the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and that she has to take final call over the formation of the government and whether she wants to continue with the agenda of alliance.

Meanwhile, Congress’s senior Vice President Ghulam Nabi Monga stated that the party is keeping a closer vigil over the situation and would not reveal its cards till any breakthrough is witnessed vis-à-vis the stalemate.
