SRINAGAR: Around 2.7 lakh students are expected to appear in the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) examinations for Classes 10, 11 and 12, with 2,402 examination centres established across 10 Kashmir districts and six winter-zone districts of Jammu division.
JKBOSE Chairman Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said the Class 10 examinations would begin on Monday, followed by Class 12 papers from October 21 and Class 11 examinations from October 29.
Addressing a press conference, Sheikh said the Board had deployed the required staff, including superintendents, deputy superintendents and supervisors, to conduct the examinations. Confidential examination material has also been delivered to the concerned police stations in advance, he added.
The chairman said district magistrates had been requested to impose restrictions under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to safeguard examination integrity. District senior superintendents of police had also been asked to prevent outside interference during the examinations.
To address complaints and monitor the process, the Board has established a grievance-monitoring cell with landline numbers and email facilities, besides deploying 40 mobile inspection teams.
Sheikh urged students appearing in Class 10 examinations for the first time to remain calm, saying the question papers had been prepared in accordance with the benchmarks of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
He also asked examination staff to deal with candidates politely and sensitively, particularly those who might feel anxious during the papers.
The chairman said special arrangements had been made for children with special needs (CWSN), with examination superintendents directed to provide eligible candidates all assistance permitted under the rules.
