SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has refuted media reports claiming changes in the syllabus and courses of study for Classes 9 to 12, stating that no such revision has been made for the ongoing academic session.
In a clarification issued by the Director Academics, JKBOSE said that the curriculum and courses of study for the current academic year remain unchanged. It, however, clarified that limited updates have been made in select subjects in advance of the session.
The Board stated that the syllabus of Punjabi, Physical Education and Functional English for Class 11 has been updated, with a notification issued in March 2026 prior to the commencement of the academic session.
It further added that revisions have also been made in Environmental Science and Education for Class 12, with the relevant notification issued in early March 2026 for the information of all concerned stakeholders.
JKBOSE emphasised that these updates were issued in a timely manner and do not amount to a broader change in the curriculum for Classes 9 to 12, as reported by some media outlets.
