In a setback to NC patron Farooq Abdullah, Board of Cricket Association of India Sunday recognised Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association led by Sports Minister Imran Ansari.
Talking to KNS, Ansari said that BCCI has recognized the JKCA group led by him. “We got the BCCI legitimacy,” he said, adding that an under-19 women cricket team sent by his group for trails will be playing first match in Pune on Tuesday.
General Secretary JKCA Iqbal Shah, meanwhile, said that team sent by JKCA faction led by Farooq Abdullah was rejected by BCCI. “Only our team was recognized as legitimate team sent by JKCA,” he said.
