Dr-Farooq-Abdullah-with-other-Cricket-Board-Kashmir-Members

A day after BCCI gave recognition to a newly elected cricket body headed by Sports Minister, Imran Ansari, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case into alleged misappropriation of funds involving some office bearers of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), including former chief minister Farooq Abdullah.

The CBI registered the case after the Jammu and Kashmir High Court ordered a CBI probe into the multi-crore-rupee cricket fund scam.

The JKCA scam surfaced in spring 2012 after reports surfaced that said crores of rupees intended for promotion of the sport in the state was diverted to different accounts by JKCA office bearers with mala fide intention.
