Jammu and Kashmir Chemists and Druggists Association (JKCDA) have extended support to shut down given by Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani. Association has appealed all its members’ retail and wholesale pharmaceutical traders to shut down their shops and business establishments on Saturday.

“This is resentment  against the spurious drug scam in our state. Government has not taken any serious note of it. It is very unfortunate that government has set up a inquiry committee comprising officers allegedly involved in this heinous crime’, President of Association Abdul Ahad Bhat told KNS.

He said that supplies in years of 2010, 2011 and 2012 were made and sanctioned by then Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma.

President of Association demanded the suspension of officials involved in offence and resignation of Minister to pave way for holding independent probe in the matter. Pertinently, a day after doctors had sought support from separatists to protest against fake drug scam in the Valley, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali  Geelani has called for a complete shutdown on Saturday, April 20.
