To organize the upcoming 92.7 Big FM-Greater Kashmir, J&K Corporate Premiere League on the professional lines, the organizing committee body was formed here on Tuesday.JKCPL

As per the statement the organizers of the league held meeting with key players, mentors of all teams at Peerzo Island Restaurant here. The meeting was also attended by representatives of J&K Cricket Players Association. In total around 55 members attended the meeting.

As per the meeting the Chairman and Managing Director of League, Farooq Amin of Kanwal Group was elected as President of the organizing body while as Qayoom Bagaw has been elected as general secretary. Mansoor was elected as joint secretary Kashmir while as Rajesh Dhar was elected as joint secretary Jammu. Nisar Khan was elected as Treasurer while as Sikander was elected as Technical Advisor. The body has been elected for period of five years.

Sheikh Imran of Kehwah Group who is Director Media, PR and Marketing of the league has been elected as spokesperson and Dr Amit Wanchoo was elected as advisor to CMD.

Meanwhile the organizers also formed Board of Directors for the league that includes various team owners.

Director Simula Group, Hilal Rather and Director Tramboo Industry Waseem Tramboo were chosen as executive directors. Asif Burza of Ahad Group of Hotels was appointed as Director Legal while as Reyaz Panjra of Cemtac Cements was appointed as Director Finance. Hamid Mufti of Heritage Group was appointed as Director Purchases while as Haseeb Tramboo of Tramboo Transport was appointed as Director Logistics and Technical.

Key players and mentors were declared as executive members of body.

The forming of organizing committee and Board of Directors is being termed as the first step towards making league a professional and self reliant one.

Apart from other decisions taken in the meeting it was also decided that bidding would be held at Taj Vivanta on Wednesday from 2PM onwards. The bidding would be attended by team owner, mentor and key player of each team.

Giving details about the development, League Spokesperson Sheikh Imran, said, “The forming of proper organizing committee and Board of Directors was important. With this we have distributed the responsibilities among all the stake holders who are involved in the league. It is also a step towards making league a professional and self reliant one.

“In the meeting we held one to one discussions with all the 55 members as we believe it be everyone’s league not just of the franchise teams. The main aim and vision of the league is to promote sports in the State of J&K and to support JKCA and JKCPA,” he said.

The league is being held in association with the J&K Cricket Players Association and organizers are also getting all kind of support from J&K Cricket Association. Imran said that organizing committee would strictly abide by the guidelines laid down by the JKCA for the league.

“It is our moral responsibility to strictly abide by all the guidelines laid down by the JKCA for the event,” he said.

He said that organizing committee is thankful to Dr Farooq Abdullah, JKCA, JKCPA, media for the support they got during launch of the league.

“Without the support of Dr Farooq, JKCA, JKCPA, media and franchisee owners we could not went ahead with the plan. They supported us when we needed it most and showed their reliability,” he said.

“The plus point of the league is that even team owners who mostly remain busy with their professional commitments have taken various responsibilities. It shows how much committed they are for the event and it is bound to turn out as huge success,” he further said.

He said that the tentative dates for the start of the league would be June 27 and matches would be played at various venues of the Kashmir.

“We have decided to start league from June 27 and for that we have finalized almost all the arrangements,” Imran added.
