The 18-day training program of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday concluded at Kupwara. 61 candidates including seven females successfully completed the training program which started on January 12 at Community Facilitation Centre (CFC), Gulgam, Kupwara.

The Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was conducted by the Institute under Himayat Self Employment scheme for the educated unemployed youth of the district in the age group of 18-35 years so as to enable them earn their livelihood. The candidates have chosen a varied range of activities including fitness centre and computer institute. The trained candidates shall be provided financial linkage under Term Loan scheme of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC).

The 18-day Entrepreneurship Development Program was modeled for manufacturing, services and agri-allied sectors so as to enable the aspirants chose from a range of entrepreneurial activities viable in their respective areas.

EDPs (training) are part of the Institute’s ongoing process to reach every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and equip the unemployed youth with life sustainable business skills. The EDPs are generally aimed at providing lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific and self-development training to the participating youth.

The trained aspirants hailed the training curriculum which they said has given them confidence to start their entrepreneurial journey. The unemployed youth, who are all set to start their entrepreneurial journey said they expect further hand holding by JKEDI once they start their business ventures.
