Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief Muhammad Yasin Malik paid rich tributes to veteran leader of “freedom movement” Sofi Muhammad Akbar on his death anniversary.

In a statement issued here, Malik said that Sofi was a great patriot and a selfless leader who instead of power and authority chose the path of thorns and till his last breath remained steadfast with “freedom movement” and resisted “tyranny and oppression”.

He said, “The path of struggle and resistance shown by this great soul is an example and beacon of light for us and today on a day when we are recalling this great soul, we pledge to take forward his mission to its desired goal.”

A delegation of JKLF today participated in a condolence meeting held at his Mazar in Sopore.

Paying rich tributes to the Sofi, they said that his sacrifices will never be forgotten.

A prayers meeting was also held on the occasion in which prayers were held for the veteran “leader”.

Meanwhile, JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik visited Soura Hospital where ailing son of incarcerated “resistance leaders” Dr Qasim and Syeda Aasiya Indrabi is admitted after he was operated upon there.

Malik met with the ailing child and inquired about his health.

On the occasion he said that a child whose father and mother are both in jails has been operated upon and is admitted in a hospital and it was required to at least release his mother from jail but “tyrant rulers” who know no humanity and moral values have not released her yet and this child is being deprived of his parental care.
