Continuing its ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ , about 30 more people courted arrest at Khankah I Mo’alla Srinagar on Friday. The arrested have been shifted to sub jail Kupwara and sub jail Baramullah.
After Friday prayers a procession was taken out from Aastana Khankahi Moalla. The participants marched towards Bohri Kadal Chowk raising slogans in favor of Azadi, resistance movement, leaders, martyrs and prisoners.
According to the statement, the arrests were to be presented at Bohri Kadal Chowk but police had cordoned off the road and laid a siege at Khankah Chowk
“After reaching near Zaina Kadal Chowk the procession was stopped and JKLF leaders and workers presented themselves for arrest . The Jail Bharo Tehreek is intended at highlighting the issue of our prisoners. We cannot bear the ill treatment of our brethren in jails. We cannot take the new judicial torture policy of India lightly. JKLF has started a peaceful political campaign against this subjugation and will in future also organize programs like these,” read the statement.
Pertinently the 5th and final phase of JKLF jail Bharo Tehreek will be held at Abi Guzar Srinagar on Sunday January 13, 2013.
