JKSSB Releases Sub Inspector Recruitment Exam Syllabus

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the syllabus for the Sub Inspector recruitment exam. The written examination will be objective in nature and will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates will be required to answer 120 questions within a duration of two hours, with each question carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

The syllabus includes several components designed to assess candidates comprehensively. The General Intelligence and Reasoning section will test a wide range of cognitive abilities, including analogies, similarities and differences, space visualisation, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, and reasoning skills. This section also evaluates understanding of relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning through topics such as series, coding and decoding, and syllogistic reasoning.

The General Awareness section will focus on the candidates’ understanding of their environment and its application to society. It will include questions on history, culture, geography, and economics, particularly with reference to India and Jammu and Kashmir. Topics will also cover general policy, sports, scientific research, and current affairs, ensuring a well-rounded evaluation of the candidate’s knowledge.

Quantitative Aptitude will test numerical and mathematical ability, emphasising whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, and ratios. Additional topics will include square roots, averages, interest calculations, profit and loss, discount, partnership business, mixtures, time and distance, and time and work problems. This section aims to gauge the candidate’s number sense and ability to apply mathematical concepts effectively.

The English Comprehension section will assess vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension. Candidates will be tested on sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, idiomatic expressions, and spotting grammatical errors. The section will also include passages requiring candidates to answer questions based on their understanding of the text. The passages will cover diverse themes, including simple narratives and current affairs topics from reports or editorials.

Additional mathematical topics will include basic algebraic identities, elementary surds, and graphs of linear equations. Geometry will cover elementary geometric concepts, including triangles, their centres, congruence and similarity, and properties of circles, chords, tangents, and angles.

The examination represents a significant opportunity for candidates aspiring to join the JKSSB as Sub Inspectors. By familiarising themselves with the syllabus and preparing strategically, candidates can significantly enhance their chances of performing well in the recruitment test.
