JKSSSA Regulations: Two-Day Consultative Meeting Begins at JKBOSE Srinagar

   

SRINAGAR: A two-day consultative meeting for formulating regulations of the Jammu and Kashmir School Standards and Safety Authority (JKSSSA) commenced today at the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Srinagar.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, subject experts, representatives from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, the School Education Department, JKSCERT, Higher Education Department, universities of the Union Territory, and the civil administration.

The deliberations aim to develop a comprehensive and context-specific regulatory framework to guide the functioning of JKSSSA, with a focus on strengthening institutional mechanisms for maintaining quality standards, safety protocols, and infrastructure benchmarks in schools across Jammu and Kashmir.

Chairing the inaugural session, JKBOSE Chairperson Gh Hassan Sheikh underscored the need for a transparent, accountable, and forward-looking regulatory structure aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and evolving educational requirements.

Prof Rasmita Das Swain from NIEPA, New Delhi, stressed the importance of incorporating best practices, stakeholder inputs, and ground-level realities into the proposed bylaw framework.

Over the two-day deliberations, participants will focus on key thematic areas including governance structure, regulatory mandates, compliance systems, quality assurance parameters, and school safety standards. The consultative process includes interactive sessions, thematic presentations, and group discussions aimed at framing a robust and implementable regulatory framework for the school education system in the Union Territory.
