SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL has informed that scheduled shutdowns of several transmission lines will be carried out, causing temporary power interruptions in multiple areas of Kashmir.
As per the statement, a shutdown of the 33 kV Soibugh–Wadwan line will be observed, affecting power supply to Soibugh, Dharmuna, Wadwan, Rasoo, Gotpora, Chatbugh, Pymus, Gariend, Nadigam, Banggam, Wahpora and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on April 16, 2026.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Kremshore line will affect Old Kremshore, Arigam, Nuner, Shamsabad, Dreygam, Branwar, Sursyar, Raithan, Khansahib, Shinipora, Yarikhah and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM on April 18, 2026.
Likewise, the 33 kV Wanpoh–Ashajipora–Malaknag DC line shutdown will impact Ashajipora, Janglat Mandi, Malaknag, Brakpora and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 16 and 18, 2026.
In addition, shutdown of the 33 kV Hiller–Shankerpora Tapline will affect Shankerpora, Bemdoora, Larkipora, Shrine and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 16, 2026.
Furthermore, the 132/33 kV GIS Khanyar shutdown will impact Industrial Estate BAMK, Raja Colony, Nowshera, Zadibal, Hawal, Botakadal, BSNL, Gilkadal, Kathi Darwaza, Rainawari, Psychiatric Hospital, PHE, Central Jail, Saida Kadal and adjoining areas from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM on April 16 and 17, 2026.
The KPDCL has advised residents of the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance.
