SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Yateem Foundation organised Scholarship Cheque Distribution Function in Government Degree College (Boys), Pulwama.  The organisation distributed Rs 30 lac among seventy students under Pre Matric (Basic Education Scholarship Programme) and Higher Education Scholarship (HESP) Professional Programme (Professional) welfare programmes.

The event was aimed to inculcate volunteerism spirit among a cross-section of people, and emphasize the need to empower economically weaker sections through quality education.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz, ADDC District Pulwama. He said, “Society should come forward to contribute for the humanitarian cause while utilising individual capacities and capabilities for common good. While praising JKYF for the commendable job he urged, “People to help the needy irrespective of any prejudice, which in turn will be rewarded by Allah.”

District Nodal Officer NGOs, Nowshad Ahmad Rather was invited as the Guest of Honour. He spoke regarding the continuous efforts put by JKYF and their professional work to reach out to the poor and needy during COVID pandemic of which he has been a witness.

Other dignitaries who attended the event and extended their appreciation towards JKYF include Dr Talat Majeed, Mohammad Rafiq Lone (Chairman JKYF), Mohammad Abdullah Ahangar.

Three girl students including two NEET- 2022 qualifiers shared their experiences on the occasion.
