SRINAGAR

J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar Saturday called on the “freedom loving people” of the state, saying they should join hands to devise a joint strategy to “defeat the design government of India and its stooges”.

Coming together is necessary, the Bar association said in a statement, to defeat the designs breaking the will of people and “thereby crush the ongoing freedom struggle”.

Bar said that by issuing mere statements, nothing was going to change on ground.

“For mobilizing the world opinion towards the resolution of Kashmir it was high time that we move out of our homes and hearths and protest peacefully on roads against the reign of terror let loose by police and other agencies in the state,” it said.

The Bar members also denounced the statement of British prime minister for supporting India to become a permanent member of security council and said that a country which has “trampled more than 18 resolutions of the Security Council on Kashmir and has denied the people of J&K their right of self-determination cannot be permitted to become a permanent member of Security Council as it would be an affront to the UN Charter and other covenants of the UN itself.”

The Bar members also condemned the arrest and detention of Asiya Andrabi, chairman Dukhtaran e Millat, even after her release on bail and of other pro-freedom leaders.
