Join us to Preserve Environment: SKNF to Pandits

Reiterating its demand of complete ban on Yatra, the Kausar Nag Bachao Front (KNBF) or Save Kausar Nag Front (SKNF) on Saturday called upon Kashmir Pandits to return and join them in their campaign of ‘preserving environment’.

Talking to GNS, the General Secretary of Kausar Nag Bachao Front, Sajjad Noorabadi said the Kashmir also belongs to Pandits and it is mandatory for them also to preserve environment. “Though they are not living here, but one day they will have to come back. This issue isn’t only for us but for them too as they have been living here and protecting the ecology and environment,” he said.

“We ask our brothers to come here. We will give you shelter and security,” he said.

He said they are not against any particular religion but Kausar Nag Yatra has no ‘historical background’. The General Secretary of the Front reiterated that the Yatra should be banned from both the sides. “For us, the issue is not routes to the glacial lake,” he said, adding: “All we want is the ban on Yatra which poses danger to our environment and ultimately people would have to bear the brunt.”

The Front’s General Secretary slammed government for ‘misleading’ the masses. “It is also disturbing that some people have made it religious issue,” he added.
