National Front led by Nayeem Ahmad Khan has appealed both the factions of Hurriyat Conference to present a joint programme of protests to press for the return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru.

Nayeem Ahmad Khan is presently detained in central jail Srinagar. He was arrested on February 8, 2013. National Front has issued a press release favouring united protest programe.

“The precious blood of Mohmmad Afzal Guru demands that freedom leadership should come with a joint and strong programme so that the common masses get a feeling of unity,” the statement said.

“It is the need of the hour to come together against those who work for Indian occupation. So it is very important for the pro freedom leadership to take the Kashmiri civil society into confidence and come with a joint strategy and programme”, It added.

The National front also has said that the anti movement elements have once again started working against the ongoing resistance and the local collaborators are united and hell bent against the freedom movement.

The party has appealed to the Indian civil society to adopt the policy of neutralism and to compel New Delhi to return the body of Afzal Guru who was hanged to “satisfy the collective conscience of Indian people” and who was not provided a fair trial in the court. “India has already committed an unpardonable crime by hanging an innocent Kashmiri so it should not repeat another crime by not returning his body. Indian civil society can play a very important role in it”, reads the statement.
