Srinagar: Various leaders and activists from united resistance leadership were Monday arrested when they were protesting against the plight of Kashmiri inmates languishing in various jails and police stations.
Earlier, hundreds of activists along with people staged a peaceful sit-in at Basant Bagh chowk, in Srinagar.
It is worth mention that united resistance leadership, comprised of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had announced a peaceful protest sit-in and seminar on the plight of Kashmiri inmates at Miasuma today.
However, police arrested Malik and detained Mirwaiz last evening while as Geelani remained continuously under house arrest.
