Raising the issue of power crisis in Ladakh region the Congress leader Nawang Rigzin Jora on Tuesday asked the government to stop supplying power to Army to pave way for improvement of power in Ladakh region.

Jora made the remark when Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was replying to a question on deepening power crisis in Kashmir Valley.

Jora said that Army and paramilitary camps are illuminated with sparkling lights but the civilian populations are kept in darkness.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh assured Jora that power crisis in Ladakh region would be addressed on priority and the collective measures will be taken to ensure adequate availability of power to civilian populations in the area.
