Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir ( DHSK) has set up a dedicated Oro- Maxillofacial Unit at district hospital Baramulla.
The first of its kind facility, the unit in peripheral hospital has been set up with an aim to handle maxilo- facial trauma patients and also for other complex procedures like sinus OAF procedures, TMJ cases, Pathologies ( Biopsy & Procedures), Flap Surgeries, etc., a DHSK statement reads.
Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman while focussing on the importance of OMFS unit, has said the patients from north Kashmir who otherwise had to traverse for such procedures to GDC Srinagar can now be operated and managed at DH Baramulla.
He has also said that the directorate has also issued a circular for conducting Gap Analysis in Oral Health Sector to achieve better Oral Health Care services across all peripheral hospitals of Kashmir Division.
