SRINAGAR: Journalist Hilal Shah has suffered a personal loss as his aunt, Habla Begum, passed away on Tuesday at SKIMS Srinagar after a prolonged illness.
A resident of Khabazar, Cheeni Chowk, Anantnag, the deceased had been undergoing treatment for the past two months. Despite all medical efforts, she breathed her last today at the tertiary care hospital.
Her death has plunged the family and local community into mourning. Habla Begum was known for her warmth and kindness and was respected by her neighbours and extended family.
A large number of relatives, friends, neighbours, and members of the journalistic fraternity gathered to offer condolences.
She was laid to rest at the family graveyard after funeral prayers held.
