SRINAGAR: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced scheduled power outages across various areas of Jammu between January 17 and 24. The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of JPDCL Jammu stated that the interruptions are due to maintenance and repair works.
As per the notification, power supply to Satwari, Nai Basti, Ashok Nagar, M.H. Military Cantonment, Airforce, Balicharana, and adjoining areas will be disrupted on January 19 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Additionally, Barui, Nardiwal, Mandrian, Kha, Maira, Thatar Mundh, Payan, and surrounding regions will face outages on January 17, 18, 20, 22, and 24, from 8 am to 2 pm.
Similarly, areas including Jarai, Parliwand, Main Bazar, PHE installations, and several wards of Lakhanpur, Bhagthali, Basantpur, and Thein will experience disruptions on January 17 from 9 am to 3 pm.
In other scheduled outages, electricity supply to Company Bagh, Ware House, Jewel, Chand Nagar, and Krishna Nagar will remain affected on January 19 from 8 am to 1 pm. Bhalla, Bhaderwah, Ganika, and surrounding areas will also face outages on January 19 and 20, from 9 am to 3 pm.
Doda town, Prabble, Humble Marmat, and adjoining areas are set to have a power shutdown on January 19 from 9 am to 3 pm, as informed by JPDCL officials.
Meanwhile, the Superintending Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL, O&M Circle Kathua, has reported that power supply to Shiva Nagar, Manke Talab, Shaheedi Chowk, and nearby localities will be suspended on January 17 from 9 am to 1 pm. Similarly, industrial areas such as SIDCO, SICOP, and the Old Industry area will face outages on January 19 from 10 am to 2 pm.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to take note of these schedules and plan accordingly to minimise disruptions.
