While paying tributes to martyrs of July 13, 1931, Chairman United Jihad Council Syed Salahudin Sunday said that the best tribute to martyrs was to take their mission to logical conclusion.

In an e-mailed statement issued to KNS, UJC spokesperson Syed Sadaqat said Salahudin while addressing a special session of UJC in Muzzaffarabad has highlighted the importance of July 13 and said the day has actually laid the foundation of Kashmir’s freedom movement when 22 youth were killed by Dogra rulers.

UJC Chairman, as per the spokesperson, has also urged the Hurriyat leadership to show unity and adopt common strategy for the larger benefit of Kashmir cause.  “In the present scenario, when India is all set to change the demographic character of Jammu and Kashmir, innocent people are killed and children are maimed by firing pellets on them, the resistance leadership has to be united both in thought and action so that the designs of India are defeated,” he said.
