Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik Sunday said Kashmiris are a living nation not any group of dumb animals who can be cajoled by some myth or tricks.

“To say that Kashmir issue will be taken up during back door diplomacy is actually insulting this living nation that has a 5000 year old history and has rendered more than five lakh sacrifices for its freedom,” Malik said in a statement while reacting to statement of Pakistani foreign minister Sartaj Aziz in which he had said that Kashmir will be taken during secret talks.

While reacting to statement of Sartaj Aziz in which he had said that Kashmir issue will be discussed during back door diplomacy, Malik said, “Kashmiris are a living nation and our freedom struggle started before India and Pakistan got their freedom and continues till today. He said that Kashmiris have a 5000 year old civilization and we have sacrificed more than five lakh of our people for freedom. This is a glaring example of this nation being an honorable nation and today by saying that Kashmir issue will be dealt with during back door diplomacy is actually like insulting this nation.”

“Pakistani minister Sartaj Aziz has actually sprinkling salt on the wounds of Kashmiris who have lost their four generation for their freedom and a peaceful resolution to this dispute. By not mentioning Kashmir in joint declaration and now saying that this will be taken on during back door diplomacy is actually an indication that India and Pakistan want to put Kashmir on back burner. Kashmiris are not a group of dumb animals that someone according to his or her will or whim may decide about their future and they will watch the proceedings with silence,” JKLF chairman said

“After BJP assumed power in Delhi, Indian rulers have clearly said that they will not talk on Kashmir. This is why they create havoc even on small meetings between Kashmiri resistance leaders and Pakistani diplomats and leaders and so on. Now in Russia Indian Prime Minister met his Pakistani counterpart and a joint declaration was issued which mentioned everything but Kashmir which actually proved the fact that Indian point of view about Kashmir got an acceptance. Now when reality is clear why is Pakistani foreign minister issuing a statement that Kashmir will be discussed during back door diplomacy. Who he is trying to befool,” Malik asked.

“Kashmir is not a border issue between India and Pakistan, it is the issue related to the future of a living nation called Kashmir. He said that Kashmiris have their own 5000 year old civilization and we have rendered valuable sacrifices for our freedom and no one can ignore or bypass us for his pity interests,” he added.
