In the wake of attacks in prisons, the Director General of Prisons, K Rajendra Kumar, along with SP Baramulla today paid a surprise visit of District Jail Baramulla.
As per a statement Rajendra took stock of the facilities and reviewed security and other arrangements in place in the District Jail. During the visit he has also interacted with inmates and enquired about their welfare and facilities available to them. He has stressed upon the inmates to take active part in the reformative programmes started by the Department.
DG Prisons has also held a Darbar of the staff of District Jail Baramulla to get first hand appraisal of the problems if any faced by them. He has assured full support to the staff and asked them to work with zeal and enthusiasm.
Pertinently it was the first visit of K Rajendra to District Jail Baramulla after assuming charge of DG Prisons.
