Ruling National Conference leader Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, on Tuesday backtracked from his statement and ruled out his party supporting Modi led government if he comes to power at the Centre.
Kamal said that any decision on the future alliances would be taken by the party high command.
“In principle, we can’t support BJP because it did not pay any heed to the autonomy resolution passed by the state legislature,” Kamal said in a statement.
The statement from Kamal came in the backdrop of news reports in quoted him as saying that NC will support Modi if the BJP comes to power at the Centre.
