Continuing with his electioneering National Conference’s additional general secretary and candidate for Gulmarg Dr Mustafa Kamaal National Conference candidate Sunday while referring to PDP’s election manifesto said that self rule talk of PDP has no legal or Constitutional relevance but is only an idea floated by PDP to mislead the people. “If it had any substance why was not the same tabled in the state Legislature from 2002 to 2005 when Mufti sayeed was the chief Minister .The role Mufti Sayed played as Union Home Minister through his appointed Governor JagMohan in 1989 by letting loose large Scale terror, death and destruction across the state is known to all for which he apply has been called “merchant of death”.
Kamaal was addressing public meetings at Lollpora & Dhobiwan. He l further said Greater Autonomy resolution of the 9th J&K legislative Assembly of 1999 has both legal and constitutional relevance even as it has been trashed by New Delhi.
Dr. Kamaal appealed to the election observer of Gulmarg to address the peoples complaint that PDP and DPN in order to lure voters give money, CGI sheets, plastic sheets and rice bagswhich is against the model code of conduct. “Such attempts have been nipped in the bud and exposed with millions of rupees seized from persons belonging to these partys in Kupwar District recently,”he said.
Kamaal also took umbrage for the remarks of Mirwaiz Umar on Article 370 and Greater Autonomy that National Conference was raising this issue as a poll plank. He reminded Mirwaiz Umar the “Article 370 restoration to its original position is an article of Faith with National Conference and we will continue to press for it till achieved .It is the PDP that is using it as an election issue despite the fact that it Mufti Sayed that was responsible for eroding this article in a systematic manner from 1953 to 1975.”
He also castigated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his speech at udhampur wherein he has declared to starve J&K Government of funds as also dilly dallying with the rehabilitation package for the flood victims.
“The charge made by Shri Modi that funds are not used properly in J&K is a wild and baseless charge Omar Abdullah has already said that center can investigate or apologize such an attitude of the PM Modi towards J&K State smacks of discrimination on religious grounds because J&K is a Muslim majority state and is condemnable.”
