Srinagar: To finalize arrangements for smooth conduct of J&K Civil Services examination, Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah convened a meeting at DC Office Complex, Islamabad on Friday.

Pertinent to mention that Combined Competitive examination shall be held on March 19 (Sunday) 2017.

As many as 3994 candidates of the district are appearing for the competitive examination for whom seven (07) examination centres have been set up.

The ADC Islamabad informed the meeting that the supervisory staff assisted by the magistrates shall collect the material from the strong room and later on deposit it at the same location after conducting the examination.

The SSP Islamabad said that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place around the examination centres. He said that lady contingents shall be deployed at the examination centres for frisking female candidates.

In a similar meeting held at Baramulla under the chairmanship of: District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash to finalize arrangements for conduct of KAS Prelims.

The meeting was informed that 2628 candidates are appearing in the exam at five examination centres established in the district.

On the occasion, the DDC impressed upon all concerned to facilitate successful conduct of the exam. He designated ACD Baramulla, Mir Munawar as Nodal Officer, who will be assisted by five other officers including CEO Baramulla, for on time collection and delivery of the material regarding the exam.

Among others the meeting was attended by concerned district and Tehsil level officers.

The General Administration Department has already nominated supervisors for the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination. However, owing to the sensitivity of the examination, the district administrations have deployed additional supervisors and magistrates.

Candidates in general, have been asked not to bring in electronic gadgets like mobile phones, smart watches and scientific calculators along with them as they are prohibited under JKPSC guidelines.
