‘Kashmir Awareness Program’ to continue: Resistance leaders

Joint Resistance Leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued on Tuesday said that as part of the resistance program “Kashmir Awareness Campaign” to highlight the Kashmir dispute and the grave human rights situation arising as a consequence of that, was started at midnight yesterday.

The campaign will continue and people are asked to join it by putting up posts highlighting the dispute, the situation on ground and their commitment with regard to the resolution of the dispute.

The leadership asked the Kashmiri diaspora world over to associate with the campaign and make efforts to take it forward. JRL said that as part of the campaign a signature petition by the leadership on behalf of the people of Kashmir has been launched online as well.

Joint Resistance Leadership reiterated the program for 13th July. The day will be commemorated as ‘Youm Tajdeed Ahad’ (renewal of pledge). The leadership said that to pay homage to the martyrs of July 13 1931 a rally will be held at Martyrs Graveyard Naqshbanad sahib after Zuhr prayers. Geerlani would lead a rally from Hyderpora, Mirwaiz Umar from Jama Masjid Srinagar and Yasiin Malik from Maisuma. Complete shutdown will be observed to mark the day.
