SRINAGAR: Back home, Kashmir plays less cricket but cheers a lot. So here is another reason.

A local Kashmiri teams, Kashmir Stags have won a match against Riyadh Foods in a tournament that Jotun Paints Saudi Arabia sponsors. It is managed by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).

Arab News reported that Danish Ahmed Qadri’s 164 runs and a brilliant 106 by Adil Manzoor Khan helped Kashmir Stags to a score of 309 for 3, and the Stags bundled out Riyadh Foods for 147 to win by 162 runs in the 9th week of the tournament.

Batting first Kashmir Stags amassed huge total of 309 runs for the loss of three wickets. Danish scored brilliant 162 runs while as Adil scored 106.

In reply Riyadh Foods were bundled out for 147. For Kashmir stags Idris was again brilliant in bowling department taking four wickets and giving away only 13 runs.

Zubair took two wickets and Danish took one. For his dominating knock of 162 runs and taking one wicket Danish was adjudged as man of the match.

Kashmiris living off shore have started organising sports events. The biggest such event was in Dubai where Kashmir diaspora plays lot of cricket and football. Tens of thousands of Kashmiris are living in Middle East.
